The brilliant colors most people associate with fall last only a short period of time each year. They quickly disappear as the trees shed their leaves and make way for the more subtle nuances of late fall. It is during this transition time interesting events and conditions create unique opportunities for those willing to take the time to look. The up and down from warm to cold conditions can create unusual events. I captured this picture one morning in a partially frozen creek. The churning water created bubbles that got trapped under ice and then frozen.
