For photographers morning comes quickly to the north woods in early summer. With sunset after 9 pm and sunrise before 5 am, prying yourself out of bed for sunrise can be difficult. As I headed out the morning I captured this image I knew it would be worth it. The sky was clear to the east where the sun would come up while in the south and west a tapestry of clouds filled the sky. Add to that calm winds, lake fog, and newly emerged lily pads made for a wonderful opportunity. I was not disappointed and captured this and several other images. After I had finished for the morning I greeted the first fishermen as they past by, just starting their day.
